Stay Stressed In The Office With These 10 Steps
1) Don’t respect yourself. It’s easier to let yourself go and not bother to consider your own well being. Truth be known, it’s not hard to take care of yourself, even if you have to start with baby steps. See a doctor if you are sick. Visit a financial counselor if you are having money problems. If you are having trouble coping, make an appointment with a counselor. Find healthier choices for yourself by getting exercise and taking care of your body.
2) Always expect fast results. Be super hard on yourself, because aren’t results supposed to be immediate? Thankfully, things work themselves out most of the time. Often, if we will be patient with ourselves and others and maintain an element of optimism, life has a way of changing things once again. Rather than get overly excited when things happen, wait and see if things don’t work out on their own.
3) Ignore your stress. Isn’t stress a normal part of life? People just live day in and day out with excessive amounts of stress. This isn’t really necessary. There are things that you can do to help yourself. Some people find that they can relax better after a weekly massage or warm bath. Others keep a journal or pray. Sometimes, just a brisk walk will help reduce stress. Try various techniques until you find one that works for you. Sometimes you have to walk away from a relationship, but it’s for the best.
4) Get the cheapest office furniture available. Isn’t all office furniture basically the same? Reseach has proven, however, that you perform better and feel better when you are more comfortable. You should consider investing in some ergonomic equipment to help relieve everyday stress. An ergonomic chair will allow you to adjust your arms, back and legs to a comfortable fit, reducing stress at your desk. You will find that height adjustable computer desks will allow you to actually be able to reach things without bending and twisting.
5) Always assume the worst. Isn’t this easy to do when things are going poorly? It really is worth your while to work on having a more positive attitude. It is a fact that when we decide to have a better attitude, things seem to go better. Decide right now to be more positive about your life. Be thankful for your job and take one day at a time.
6) Be hard on yourself. You probably don’t work hard enough, so be sure to over-do it and never give yourself a break. On the other hand, why do we think that we are going to get it all done if we work harder and any ourselves a vacation or break? Nothing can be gained from working yourself to death. If you will take the time to enjoy life, you will be a more productive worker who is happier and healthier. Find something relaxing that you enjoy and make time for it.
7) Don’t help anyone else. If you are having a bad time, then by all means, shouldn’t you take it out on other people? No, because it is a proven fact that when you reach out to other people, it is beneficial to you as well. Taking the time to be think of someone else makes our own troubles seem small. Being irritated, harsh and annoyed will only add to your anxiety and make your life more complicated.
Continue to live in the fog. So many people live by their emotions, rather than taking the time to figure out why they are having a rough time. Sit down and figure it out by writing down some pros and cons about your present circumstances. You will likely learn alot about yourself. If that doesn’t work, then see a professional counselor who can help you work through things.
9) Always procrastinate. Why bother to do work ahead of time when it’s not urgent? Because people put things off until the last minute, they get stressed out over their jobs. Start on deadlines right away rather than procrastinating. Start as soon as possible so you can get it done, put it behind you and move on to something that you like.
10) Above all else, don’t follow this list. Why would anyone think that they can tell you how to live your life? Seriously, there is always something that we can do to improve ourselves. You deserve to get enjoyment out of your life and employment. You can’t expect every day to be wonderful. However, by NOT following these simple steps, you will be stepping out of the doldrums and making a better way for yourself.
